A study of pre-sequences In english and vietnamese apology

Abstract

This research is focused on the pre-sequences in apologies with nearly 300 pre-sequences in apologies for each language taken from English and Vietnamese films. By using descriptive, quantitative and qualitative methods, particularly generalization, systematization, analysis, comparison and contrast, we try identifying, classifying and finding the similarities and differences of pre- sequences in apologies in terms of syntactic and pragmatic aspects in English and Vietnamese in order to enhance communicative efficiency for the Vietnamese learners of English.
