dc.description.abstractThe study attempts to investigate linguistic features of confessions on social network sites in English and Vietnamese. Differences and similarities between the English language and Vietnamese language in facebook confession pages are explored as well.The data of the study including 200 samples in English and 200 samples in Vietnamese are collected from facebook confessions pages of high schools and universities in America and those in Vietnam. The study is carried out through the adoption of descriptive, quantitative, qualitative and contrastive approaches. The findings of the research are compared and contrasted to reveal major similarities and differences in language on confession pages in English and Vietnamese. This research also aims to contribute to the other linguistic research such as on language development, on effects of the Internet on language, on the effects of English on Vietnamese.en_US
