This thesis investigated semantic features of English complex prepositions in formal documents and found out the equivalent uses of English complex prepositions in Vietnamese in terms of semantic features. This aims at assisting learners of English in classifying meanings of English complex prepositions as well as their equivalents in Vietnamese in order to use them appropriately in especially translation. We are interested in dealing with English complex prepositions and their collocation in formal documents. We normally have difficulties in mastering English collocation in general and the collocation between English complex prepositions and their following collates in particular. So doing research on collocation must be useful for us and our students to improve our skills of correct using of complex prepositions in English formal documents. The equivalents of English complex prepositions in Vietnamese in terms of collocation have been concerned as well. This is for helping learners of English apply in language skills as well as translation of English complex prepositions into Vietnamese and vice versa.en_US
