dc.description.abstract | The system of transitivity (or processes) divides the experiential world into different types of process, each of which is related to certain functional participant roles and presented in different configuration. The study makes an effort to describe the features of two participants: Goal and Range appearing in material processes semantically, syntactically and in pragmatics in English and consider applicable features in Vietnamese. Besides this, there will be a comparison of the features between these two. As a result of this, the thesis will provide a complete observation of these two participant roles because some potential problems in learning and teaching will be pointed out and solved. On the whole, the research will supply access to know the relationship between grammar, meaning and context. | en_US |
