dc.description.abstractThis study attempts to investigate some types of English and Vietnamese deictic expressions and find out their similarities and differences in semantic and pragmatic aspects. The result of the study aims at providing the Vietnamese learners of English with better ways to identify different types of deixis and properly interpret them in discourse. We also hope to suggest possible solutions to many of the issues which Vietnamese students and translators are confronted with when translating English texts into Vietnamese and vice versa.en_US
