Life in the world should be maintained with the co-existence of different species which man shares his habitats with. It is required that all of the people on earth should maintain and restore the nature conservation of important habitats and species. Furthermore, providing the public with opportunities to view wildlife and typical habitats is essential to achieve public support. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that organisations in the world seek to develop nature reserves to promote nature conservation. Up to now, there have been many writings about discourse analysis (DA). However, rather little is done about nature conservation, especially the discourse of English texts introducing nature reserves (TINRs). Hence, the study entitled “A Discourse Analysis of English Texts Introducing Nature Reserves” is conducted to examine TINRs in terms of their layout features, lexical features, and syntactic features, stylistic and cohesive devices. The analysis is based on 85 samples in TINRs gathered from the official website of national nature reserves in England. On the basis of the findings, the thesis gives out some implications and suggestions for teaching and learning in the English language. The research results are useful for students and teachers of English and those who take interest in this type of discourseen_US
