The purpose of the study is to find out the linguistic features in expressions relating to rhetoric irony in the two classical literature works "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen and “Lá Ngọc Cành Vàng” by Nguyễn Công Hoan, from that, we find out the similarities, differences as well as difficulties that English learners might encounter. We analyze the implications behind the character’s language surface, by basing on the structure, semantic and pragmatic features. In which the structural features are characterized by analyzing the structural layers both in English and Vietnamese. Semantics and Pragmatics have an extremely close relation, considering that, those are analyzed with the interface of meaning and context. The new findings of the study is hoped to help the language learners with some improvements in understanding English language, typically in understanding irony as a stylistics device expressed in both English and Vietnamese language-
