Abstract: In light of Cognitive Linguistics, Metaphor is not only an important tool in human cognition and thought, but also plays a vital role in the conceptualization of abstract concepts like War and Peace. The two concepts are commonly viewed and expressed in terms of cognitive metaphors. This study attempts to conduct a cross-linguistic research into the conceptual metaphors denoting War and Peace in English and Vietnamese anti-war songs. Based on the theoretical background of cognitive metaphor raised by Lakoff and Johnson [22] and data collected from the questionnaire and interviews, this study attempts to explore cognitive metaphors denoting the concept of War and Peace through 780 metaphorical expressions of the two concepts. The researcher finds out 14 cognitive metaphors of War in English and Vietnamese anti-war songs and 6 cognitive metaphors of Peace in the two languages. Besides, the study also points out and explains the similarities and differences in the cognitive metaphors used for the two concepts. T
