| Abstract: | This thesis is designed to investigate names of restaurants in English and Vietnamese. With the data collected in English and in Vietnamese, the study aims at finding similarities and differences between names of restaurants in English and in Vietnamese in terms of linguistic and cultural features. To achieve this aims, structural features of restaurant names in English and in Vietnamese are identified and described; and then semantic features as well as cultural features of the names are considered so that similarities and differences between restaurant names in English and in Vietnamese can be pointed out |
