| Abstract: | The research aims at analyzing the discourse of opening speeches in English and in Vietnamese. It is carried out to raise the awareness of Vietnamese users of English about the similarities and differences of opening speeches in English and Vietnamese languages so that they can know how to write good opening speeches and thus contributing to promoting effective communication The findings of the study, then, will help users of English achieve coherent and persuasive writing of English opening speeches. |
