Abstract: Writers must use stance markers to evaluate and assess a text. Examining how often authors of current events and editorials include attitude identifiers. The study draws from 60 articles, all of which were authored and published in English over the last seven years and have a commercial focus. The similarities between the most prevalent stance markers in the two genres were highlighted, even though the frequency of stance markers varied significantly across the two genres of journalism. Findings suggest that the nature of the study's subject matter greatly influences how authors reach their conclusions. Due to needing more information or evidence, writers may hesitate to commit to their comments about business fully, opting to take more qualified stance markers.
