Abstract: This research paper deals with the linguistic features of the declarations in the texts of diplomacy in English versus Vietnamese in terms of syntax, semantics and pragmatics. On the base of the statistics and analysis, the study aims at presenting the commonly used syntactic structures as well as the semantic and pragmatic features in the texts of diplomacy in English and in Vietnamese. Next, the similarities and differences of DIDTs in English and Vietnamese are carefully considered and pointed out. Finally, from the findings of the study, pedagogical suggestions for teaching and learning English in specialized classes and for those who are interested in doing the translations have been offered in the hope they can apply some of the information presented in the thesis into their language teaching and learning and their translation skills.
