Abstract: The aims of the present study are threefold. Its primary aim is to investigate the level of metacognitive awareness used by 12th graders in Da Nang City when reading an English text. It also aims to investigate changes in students' metacognitive awareness of reading strategies following the implementation of metacognitive strategies. Finally, it aims to unfold the impact of metacognitive strategy instruction on the reading comprehension of grade 12 students Da Nang City.
